Hi Bill.
Let's go back to interior design rember it is all about position and colour.
With the anchor the position needs to be more centralised and the colour is wrong.
But colour reproduction on line is not the best,my models always look bright but in reality they are a lot more subdued.

Looking Good and "realistically Shabby" in a nice sort of way that is !

Kim, Here's a crude image of kind of what I was thinking:

Hello all, how are we doing?
My downtown is going forward on a scale of 1/35 to 1/32.
Downtown consists of the Hotel Anchor, the dry goods outlet and a church.
They are all in different stages, and there are issues, yes, I know it all sounds like a relationship
Paper is a big material for me these days, such an accommodating material for paint effects

Looks good, Kim.

Nice composition Kim. I like how the little roof between the dry goods store and the pub ties it together.

How do you make the corrugated iron? I've been making it by gluing 2 thin sheets of paper together and embossing them over a former before the dries. I can't roll mine like you seem to ba able to.

Hi Bill and Peter,
Thank you.
Peter, I don't want to give away the whole description, then it becomes just too easy.
My hint go to a big art supply store with a big craft section, have a good look around, and there you will find what you are looking for.
Most of my modelling is more paint-oriented instead of producing an item in 3 dimensions. I will try and paint it, as I get older, my patience is getting less so fast and simple is better.
Cheers

PeterH

Thank you Kim. Local art shops used to have that but not now. Fast and simple is applying to them too.

Afternoon, all, as always, thank you for your interest,
As you are all aware, all my models are unique creations on their own merits.
They can be added or subtracted from the original theme as needed,
Opposite the hotel, you can see my latest effort.

Character and charisma. -- Russ

Nice scene, Kim. I like the extension on the diorama base to accommodate the center tiedown on the caravan.

Barney

A character piece - excellent

Hey all, greetings and as usual, many thanks for your comments and interest,
Over the last little bit, I have been posting bits of my model
Anchour,
Here is a shot of the possible solution, but everything is removable, so different concepts can be tried without wrecking the baseboard.
size 1075 mm long by 400 mm wide - 40 inches by 16 inches.
All the very best

One of your most appealing layouts. Everything fits together photogenically and looks credible. Of course the structures and boat you designed create a ton of charisma. Satisfactory. -- Russ

Morning Russ.
Much like the other creations on this site, years of enjoyable work.
But with me, it is coming back to how I can take  depth of field shots with maximum detail,
That is to place the camera, say 900 mm or 3 feet, and really go into the scene, everything in focus with a maximum feeling of depth.
In the dark ages, years ago, they would use a big format camera, but now with my set-up, there is so much I can reproduce,
All the very best
