I don't get on here often anymore but I was in Ophir, Utah today for "Ophir Day" and found something unusual I thought you guys might find interesting.  Ophir is a historic mining town and the historical society has done a good job of preserving structures and interesting items from the town's history.

What I thought would be of particular interest here is a photo of a steam powered road train that pulled large ore cars about the turn of the century before they put the railroad in.  The grandson of the original owner of the steam train restored two of the ore cars and one of them is on display in town.

When walking through the town you see signs and remants all over the place of the early mining history, but then you see an overhead photo of the town during it's mining hay day and you realize how little is left.  :(

Interesting subject David !  I especially like the spoked wheel setup.

I agree with Dallas and would love to see Chuck's version !  ;)
