Hi Bill.
The boat is not mine, but I will detail it up.
Yes, a much better fit

Is that boat a commercial product? -- Russ

And a very late Happy Easter, everybody. I hope you had a good rest and lots of good food.
As usual in my world, a good part of it is taken up by model marking.
2 new pictures, all in a scale of 1/35 to 12/32 Narrow gauge
The Ruston and Hornsby is a kit that I have had for ages, but never finished. It still does not work, but I love the finish.
And the trailer was finished this morning. The plan is to develop it into a little scene that could be used anywhere.
All the very best

Morning all,
As always, wishing you all good health and for your interest.
Here we have a really good version of my Hotel Anchor, full of Australian good taste from the early 1960s period.
Very typical before the idear of planning laws on a scale of 1/35 to 1/32.
Cheers

Kim, That looks like quite the "spa". I'll bet reservations are hard to get ;D

Hi Bill I will be visiting the original in about 3 weeks.

Most satisfactory. When you visit the actual hotel, bring plenty of bug spray .... -- Russ

I like the tiled exterior to the hotel so that it can be hosed down after closing!
You may ask yourself: "Well, how did I get here?"

Hello All, AND AS USUAL THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST,
I feel I am a deeply insecure individual who thinks that I will have to move quickly and have my dearest possessions packed and ready.
So, as you all know, I have been building these models in a box for about 14 years.
Here is the latest, soon ready and waiting.
One main box that can be packed into a carry-on suitcase or posted
Everything packs into this main box, 6 mm plywood
On top is a miniature gauge working railway to a scale of 1/35 to 1/32.
And when the main box and lid are set up, they can be used for 4 separate displays with their own personalities,
The lights are from the top of the parapet and from the bottom of the baseboard,
So what you are seeing here is a rough finished structural stage, and the size is 820 mm high,420 mm wide, and the depth of the main box is 165 mm,
cheers

Will the boxed scenes be part of the larger layout you were building or are they separate "micro layouts"? If they could be part of the larger layout, it would be interesting to see how things fit together. -- Russ

Hi Russ.
Mo, this is a separate display system that can also be used for long safe storage,
At the moment, I have three separate projects that I am moving between. They are all made up of separate dioramas that can be moved around and used again and again,
But there is an overall basic design brief behind these transformer-style boxes,
I don't own a car, so all my displays are moved with me by public transport, which limits you as how much I can carry. Saying this, when I attend the occasional exhibitions, there is the problem of presenting your models at an acceptable eye level with good lighting.
This is my design brief.
But as a side conversation, I have recently completed a 14 Thousand K mroad trip here in OZ without owning a car. In Europe, this is no big deal, but here it is a challenge that requires planning,
Please find a Holiday snap included.
Cheers
