Russ ,

When are you going to change the title page of the website as I am very bored with the one that is there at the moment . Plus it must be obsolete by now as you have finished selling all your comics .

How about a few images of some of the models that have appeared on the Forum over the years ? Or does that require more effort than you are willing to put in these days ?

I was going to get around to that in December, dearest Nick-pick. I will change the website to reflect what's important now -- the forum and the digital back issues. Should I ever get around to editing and laying out a new digital article or two, they also would appear somewhere.

If, in Your Infinite Wisdom, You wish to contribute ideas or effort, please apply within.

Does it really matter what the web site is called, the most important thing is the content. As one who enjoys modelling (as Nick well knows) it is the CONTENT that is important, and it has over time been inspiring, helping me (along with the few others here in the UK who stick to its quality). Compare it with with the magazines that you get on the shelves, its is light years ahead. Please Nick don't "rock the boat".

I wasn't intending to "rawk da boot " , Les , Old Bean , I was just asking if Russ could change the pictures on the front from boring old Rio Grande locos chuffing over trestle bridges to something more interesting . Like a photo of a model of a Russian dreadnought or something else that is current and relevant .

And to all you Rio Grande railway lovers I'm sorry , but it does nothing for me .

Russ , I yet might contribute an image or two of the moss covered tree stumps I've been playing around with recently .

For the record, Nick's suggestion is valid and he's not rocking the boat.

Even though it was a wonderful narrow gauge line, the D&RGW has been beaten to death. Mal seems to love it and his articles over the past several years comprise the best coverage of the Rio Grande's post-1923 era ever published. Were there a market, I'd fiddle around with his stuff and put out a hardbound book. Too few aficionados remain for that so the book never will appear. Bummer. Don't blame me, though. Blame the majority of dilettantes corrupting what used to be a sophisticated and inspirational hobby.

On the other hand Nick wants to focus attention on the content of this website: the models you guys share with the world. (Perhaps for the first time in his life) he's correct; the home page really should reflect what's happening on the forum rather than what used to appear in my books. I'll get around to changing things one of these days. If I get lazy, I'm sure Nick will prod me. (And if I do get lazy, you'd better hope he does!)

Actually I modified the artwork for the site, dumped the Archives and Links pages, and shipped all the digital stuff to my web guy last month (right on schedule). He said he would get to it this year, when he had a chance. So I'll prod you right back, you ol' rascal, and then let's both prod my web guy. -- Russ

I guess the homepage now better reflects what this site will contain. It was kind of fun to devise a concept and create the artwork and I thought that would be enough. Then yesterday my web guy said to write a couple of paragraphs so the search engines would direct people here. I really didn't want to but, if I ever decide to put up any new material, feeding Google is a necessary evil. The text is basically a lot of bull except for the part about you guys being world class. -- Russ
