I found the plans for this bridge abutment in a book published in 1918 titled "Railroad Structures and Estimates".  I was surprised when I modeled it in Sketchup at how complicated it actually is. Quite striking in it's own way I suppose.

That's why they are hard to get just right in model form. The compound angles get complicated. Nice little CAD video too.

Thanks John. I modified the original for the height and On30 but kept the the 1-1/2:1 slope and 30° angle of the wings. Note to self: Get a bag of Hydrocal as using regular plaster .. it's too soft and chips too easy.
