I like the use of the old wheeled loader in the ship hold to clean up. At night even. Looks like it would be quite an interesting diorama.

That video is awesome! I would not have guessed these things were still in use so recently.

Well Marc , I'm about 1/3 the way through my second Hulett but that will be it ....any more and I'll be wearing a straight jacket .

Ray, it's my guess that George Hulett's invention served America very well over the decades and through 2 wars . Sadly , everything is gone now , including most of the steel mills . Here in Canada there weren't any Huletts at our mills ( like Stelco in Hamilton Ont ) ....I guess we really enjoyed hand balming !

I think it's a fine model. A very ambitious project! The whole scene should be something to see someday.

Great video.  And a great model.

Came across this video in a Facebook post... not a scale model, but definitely an impressive piece of mechanical work. Looks like a German sophisticated version of Meccano...

Paul , thanks , I've seen that one . The Hulett that really blew me away , given it was built over 50 years ago , is the one in the maritime museum in Ashtabula Ohio . Apparently a dockworker built the model , big scale (probably O or bigger ), back in the '40's or 50's . I usede to have a couple of pictures of it but they are no more  >:( .
