Morning Bill and Ray, as always thank you for your comments.
Moving along with my version of Hollow March 2025.

Nothing wrong with those "bits". Nice photo composition, too. -- Russ

Hi Russ.
I forgot to add.
In the world of Hollow, a world without electricity set in tropical Australia in 1959.

Stuart

Nice photo, plenty of character and good center of focus.

Bill Gill

Kim a very pleasing scene wherever someone looks.

Peter_T1958

I like this pituresque scene with the elderly woman very much. Figures often play only a marginal existence on layouts, although they could contribute a lot to the atmosphere.
I won't exempt myself from that subject. I was never able to paint a reasonably serious figure - sadly  :-\

Hi Russ, Stuart,Bill and Peter.
How are you doing? I appreciate your interest.
Peter I do not paint any of my figures but collect good ones.
One of my favourite figure artists is Volker Bauer from Germany.

The March 2024 issue of Model Railroader has an article on painting figures.  Applicable to all scales.  Add a magnifying lamp and one could add eye brows in large scales.
One of very few articles in MR worth saving in the last year.  My solution is Staples and then eBay to recycle the issue.

Ray Dunakin

Great scene! I really like that figure, too. It's well-proportioned, a lifelike pose, and good detail in the rake.

Kim,

it was a pleasure to meet you and see Sandy Hollow last week at the 'Internationale Spur 0 und Spur 1 Tage in Gießen'!

Cheers,
Volker
I'll make it. If I have to fly the five feet like a birdie.

Hi Volker.I was a treat to meet up,it is such a long way to travel but it us always worth it..
GIESSEN,Germany is a special event O  Scale and 1/32 only and is held in 4 huge halls.
Beautiful engines ,with over the top detail and all the wagons ,coaches ,track to go with it all
l
But what really struck ne was the amount of printed detail bits, figures in flexible resins.
Yes a huge event I was expecting a A small specialist event ,boy was I surprised.
Talking to the suppliers 1/32 is becoming very popular.
