When I first saw videos introducing 3D pens they looked like a tool in search of a purpose.
The artisan in this 25 minute video used one, plus a soldering iron, motor tool and a little paint to create a figure from scratch, demonstrating that a 3D pen can be an effective way to create some custom one -of-a-kind items for models. Yup, it was a lot of work, but the results were excellent.
Everything except paint used for coloring eyelashes, brows and lips was made from the resin/plastic. The figure is large for most model scenes/dioramas, but as a general method it shows that the resin can easily be added or removed to build up and create complex shapes faster and less expensive than many other techniques. There is no verbal description, but the video presents the method clearly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdihWikOUk4
