How about an airplane?

I helped design and build several of these DeHavilland DH2 Turbo Beavers, what Gene Zerkel calls Alaska Magnum Beaver.  Gene owns Alaska Aircraft Sales.  He commisioned me to build a 1/8 scale model and this is what I made for him.  His colors are green and gold (he says the color of money) and so I used the same exact white, jade green and gold Imron paint I painted the real airplanes with.  Is a difficult scheme to mask and paint.

Was a challenging but fun project.  Whipline amphibious floats with retractable gear.  The controls are rigged and work.  All the fittings are duplicates of the real ones.  It makes it easy when I have the real airplane to go by.

Vacu-formed many parts including the spinner, float tips, cowling and engine inlet, exhausts, bubble windows in the doors, wing and tail tips, etc.  Mostly styrene, balsa and metal.  Wings removable for transport.  Unfortunately this is the only photo I have of it.

Max thinking that building real airplanes is a lot like model building in 1/1 scale.
A screw up on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on mine.
