Title: Camera Lens
Post by: TRAINS1941 on January 24, 2007, 05:48:33 AM
Uncle Russ,
Was wondering what kind of Lens you use to take the pictures for the books your going to publish?  I just bought a new Nikon D80 and was looking at a micro or macro lens.   And this is the email I sent you but I guess I sent it wrong I don't know why you didn't get it.

For smaller stuff (actual size, not just scale)  I primarily use a 100mm macro lens. For larger models or entire scenes, it's most often a 28-70 zoom. -- Unc

Have a look at the Tamron 90mm Macro which gives a 1:1 image and because it is a fixed lens it is reasonably fast as well with its f2.8 aperture at its widest.
