Title: Cheap railtruck
Post by: lucas gargoloff on August 29, 2009, 10:21:26 PM
Hi fellows! I started this railtruck few months ago when I found a toy under my son“s bed and I thought... mmm... this could be a nice railtruck!. Well, as this is a cheap toy, I should use a cheap mechanism for it, and try my first scratch railtruck. So, I started building the wood box and attached to the truck body:

Then, I added some details, as tool boxes in the rear, grab irons, NBWs, snow plow, and more...

I painted first with rust colours, then, I airbrushed acrylics and try the salt technique. Did the first weathering touches too.

Finally, I added some tools, and weathering details here and there...

Still needs more detailing, like chains and more!!!
Hope you enjoy!

Hey Lucas,

I think it came out pretty good considering what you started with...

Nice! What scale is it? What did you use to power it?

Thanks guys! Ray, this is 0n30, and I use a cheap Bachmann cable car mechanism, and added a decoder from Bachmann too.

Neat build Lucas. The car was a great find.....looks like a Citroen judging from the grille.
