The latest loco to operate on the Tuscarora Railroad is the East Broad Top RR's loco #1, the Edward Roberts. Built by Baldwin in 1873, the Edward Roberts was reboilered in 1905, and served on the railroad's presidential inspection trains until it was replaced in that capacity by EBT #11.

Not very powerful, the Edward Roberts was retired until discussions with the neighboring Tuscarora Valley Railroad would send it over there on a lease. Two years later, the TVRR would buy EBT #1 outright, where it served for an undetermined amount of time before being retired permanently and scrapped.

The locomotive is very much a mish-mash of parts sitting in my parts box. The chassis is a much-butchered LGB mogul chassis, with Delton cylinders, front pilot, smokebox, and boiler. The cab is from Bachmann. The tender tank is cut-down from an LGB mogul tender with a scratchbuilt frame.

The cab interior is reasonably detailed. I typically don't go to a lot of trouble on the cabs, just enough to give the impression of an interior, but in this case--with the tall windows, the cab interior is rather visible. That, coupled with the loco's early construction and simple controls made it easy to suggest a decent interior.

Weathering is a mixture of acrylic washes and weathering powders along with some drybrushing. I paint and weather pretty much all in the same process.
