Gordon, does that mean the photos will be 1:12 scale or do you plan to build a 1:12 scale model of the lubester? I am so confused .... -- Russ
This is the real life lubester... don't you think those wheels are great? i am planning on building it in 1:12 scale. Sorry for the confusion, I wrote 1:12 scale because I wanted to keep it on the thread's title for the future.
Gordon, I had one years ago and sold it had the same wheels ;D
Yay!
You must live close to Provo, Utah. I know exactly where this photo was taken.

Can't wait to see to see this little beauty fully dressed in its final coat of color and distress. Amazing work as usual.
Stuart
You chose one of the most interesting designs. Beautiful crafting!
That looks really good and when you finish painting and weathering it, it will be a jewel, well a chipped and grimey jewel, but a jewel.
Lovely piece, even unpainted!
Hello Gordon, exactly your technique in model making just great.
Thanks guys for your comments. Here's four photos of the finished model.

Yet another example of your adequate talent. Now you need to build a garage to go around it. -- Russ

Mighty fine work Gordon.
If you need a garage to put it in, it would look just fine in my Luke's Garage and Gas Station project, don't you think?

Stunning work! I always get a kick out of how good your pipes and valves look.
the more and the finer the details, the more memorable, this piece is very impressive Gordon.
Outstanding work once again Gordon!

On the front and back of the Lubester, I added a styrene disk with styrene letters (OIL).The diorama is a work in progress, needs weathering and more details.

Nice little diorama, Gordon. An adequate setting for the Lubester.
Bernhard
Looks very nice

Love it!
A perfect model always needs a proper setting. Looks like you've nailed it.

Up to you usual stratospheric standards. -- Russ
Superb!
Thanks guys for your comments. I have added more detail to the diorama. I made two step-ladders, using ladders that I have in my old stuff collection for the patterns. One with three steps and one with four steps. The small tree still need painting. All the detail that are sitting on the ground are not glued and can be moved around or removed.

Lots of detail in those ladders!
What an enjoyable and superb backdrop for remarkable details. Satisfactory. -- Russ
Wonderful ladders. Health and safety is going to gig you for having them on site. Better hide them before the inspector shows up.
A great story about H&S is the one which denied a Midlands fire department from using ladders to decorate their firehouse for Christmas because they said the fire fighters could not prove they had attended a certified program teaching them how to use a ladder safely!
