Title: The old gricers guide to WEBRESIZER
Post by: Barney on March 19, 2021, 08:44:23 AM
Now really I don't know a lot about these Apple/PC things - but this webresizer photo is simple and it stops Russ moaning !! and its FREE
Its a bit Old School way of showing how simple it is - but Its the only way I know -
First a few simple rules - always down load the resized photo to your system - as Webresizer only keep them for 24 hours UNLESS you start getting involved with joining there club and that's were it can get complicated - SO DON'T GO DOWN THAT PATH - do not click on the GREEN START BUTTON - only use the ORANGE RESIZE PHOTOS HERE BUTTON
It only works with JEPEG Photos ( although they do have something to convert Raw and other types its new on there system but I stick to Jpeg)
A mistake I made when changing my Camera was it was set to a fine setting this being 3 times the amount of pixels that was on my old camera and it was far to many for the webresizer to deal with - it does explain this "file to big" but of course I did not read it and it took hours for me to sort !!
So here goes Hope you understand it and its is a bit arcaic (if that's how you spell it )  they way i have done it
Barney
Photos to follow - just got to resize them !!

Open Webresizer  On my APPLE it shows Not Secure - on the my  I pad it shows as Secure On a PC it shows as secure - A subject that has been talked about before - but no money is changing hands and no bank details are shown - The Wizz kids say the worst that can happen is some one will steal your photos Mine have appeared on "Google images of" and a few of the photo sites Pinterest for one - but life to short to worry about things like that

1     when your images come up  - CLICK ON NEW SIZE  - I normally go for about 600 for this forum

2     Then go to  - IMAGE QUALITY  90 is about the most for this forum

3    Then click on - APPLY CHANGES

Your new size will show up under NEW SIZE   (would you believe )

last step - if happy with your new size anything between 40 and 60 normally works for this forum  But you can try different sizes to get better quality - but I find the quality OK even if they are blown up /enlarged

last but important CLICK ON THE"DOWNLOAD THIS IMAGE" slot - THE FINISHED PHOTO GOES ONTO YOUR SYSTEM - THIS IS THE ONE YOU WILL USE FOR THE FORUM - and it keeps Russ off your back !!
Barney

Its best to duplicate your original photo "just in case it all goes wrong " but normally it keeps your original photo in one piece !!
I know what the Wizz kids will say but I don't really care !! --- do they realise that a lot of people don't understand  Browsers /jpegs /websites and on we go but it keeps the "old gricers" off the streets and its understandable "GOOD OLD SCHOOL STUFF"
and remember"NEVER LET SOME-ONE WHO HAS DONE NOTHING TELL YOU HOW TO DO ANYTHING "

The Photo is in my photos at the moment
Before I start I would normally make a copy and do a bit of cropping and adjustments to exposure and contrast - Thats if it is required

So its just a few steps
1: Click on RESIZE YOUR PHOTOS HERE ( the orange bar)
2: click on UPLOAD AN IMAGE
3: click on UPLOAD IMAGE
4: adJust  size : select NEW SIZE then select IMAGE QUALITY
5: if happy with your new size DOWNLOAD THIS IMAGE - this is the one you send to the forum when you have selected  Additional options ATTACH/choose file

Always do one / post -  photo at a time otherswise you will give Russ a headache

Thank you, Barney.

Whatever method you use, and I've used three or four, after you've done a couple of resizes it only takes about half a minute per image.
