My Message : Hello all Ok in the Barney Family - food supplies sort of sorted - but still "scale hopping" but enjoying it
All the best to every one
Barney and Co in England UK
Best to everyone, OK here in Connecticut.
Haven't resorted to recycling toilet paper yet :)
We're hanging in there in Kentucky!
Our Governor started taking action early and quickly, and so far - knock on wood - it seems to be helping.
Stay healthy and safe everyone!
Greetings from Germany, with us the ban has been valid for 2 weeks. But we are allowed to go grocery shopping and run the dogs.
Remains healthy
Everything is pretty good here in Southern Oregon. A few scattered cases of the Virus and I think we are overcoming the paper shortage.
Lockdown/social distancing has been an advantage in one way, I have added another 220 feet of running road and track to the outdoor railroad :)
Just finished a little session on the lathe, plenty of hobbytime during the lockdown.
No family, friends or colleagues have fallen sick and no shortages in the shops.
Stay Calm And Count Rivets!
Come ON More log ons required only 466 more required to beat the record

Hi there from Germany,
great to see the motorways as empty as last time about 1980. Nobody's sick within relatives and circle of friends and acquaintances. There's short time working all around and it seems that the value of time is becoming a little bit more obvious. Three more segmenzts to be added to 'quiet earth' with trackage finished at two of them.
Cheers,
Volker
New Jersey checking in!
We are under house arrest here. ;) Everything is just about closed. Except for things that one needs to survive.
So we are painting the inside of the house. And talking walk around the neighborhood with the dog.
Russ is probably in cardiac arrest seeing he can't go to beach and watch the girls in thongs!!! :D
Jerry
Hello New Jersey - Thongs could make you "IF-FEY" !! finely got some beans and Heinz Soup

I am crestfallen without my groups of beautiful girls in thong bikinis, each eager to cater to my every whim. Scarlett and I are okay so far. I've been messing around with my iPhone and camera for the past week or so and Amoura the cat has been my capable assistant. I hope all of you stay safe and healthy. -- Russ
We're doing ok so far here in San Diego. Still no TP on the shelves in any of the local stores, but I've heard that one of them is expecting to have some in tomorrow.
I'm nearing completion of an ore cart for the Princess Shilo Mine. Should have some pics posted pretty soon.
Fighting the virus the best we can here in Portugal!
Being a policeman puts me in the front row but so far people are being responsible which makes our work easier! We have a few infected mates in the force but no casualties so far.
Stay at home, stay safe!
We've been in lockdown in New Zealand since last Wednesday night (encouraged hereabouts over the weekend by rain and a southerly gale straight off Antarctica). Haven't heard of any modellers getting affected so far.
High all thanks for logging in - nice to hear from you all
Russ - thats nice some fine workmanship there are the windows scratch built - so fine and a delicate look
Barney
Doing ok here in Ontario. We're under a state of emergency and only essential businesses are open. PJ and I live in a somewhat isolated rural community and have basically been living a hermetic life style for years, so the isolation and distancing protocols have had little impact on us. Fortunately our provincial and federal governments cast partisanship aside and have acted quickly, effectively, and responsibly to guide and support residents through the crisis. Our community is strong, neighbours are watching out for each other. I continue to work as usual from the home studio. The good news is spring is here in all senses and scents: the snow is gone, buds are beginning to appear, early plants are popping up, and the area farmers are spreading lavish amounts of manure on the fields around us... Stay safe everyone!
Paul
Hi all from Eugene, Oregon. Like most we are hunkered down. We are pretty much stuck inside as we are getting fairly heavy (much needed) rain. I have had lots of time my studio where I am building 1/12th scale model of an old Chinese/Mongolian two wheel cart. We are well and hope so for all on this forum.

Barney, the windows on my structures are laser cut Strathmore "kits" I designed in AutoCAD; my friend, Tom Fitzgerald, cut them out. I suppose they qualify as "scratchbuilt". Every model you see in that photo is inkjet printed paper.
I've been shooting digital macro photos of the 35mm color slides I used in the days before it was feasible to store digital scans. Overall the results seem to equal or surpass the results I got from my original scans but they take at least half an hour to "trick out" before they're ready for primetime. That's been my main time-wasting activity since the corona virus hit the world. It's good finally to have digital versions of those photos.
The past few years have brought drought, massive fires, hot weather, and now a pandemic. Some fun!
Russ
We're hunkered down safely here in Maine, too.
I'm working on a large-scale fantasy diorama,
with an Ogre and Gnomes. No pics yet.
Carlo
Hi guys, greetings from Switzerland
Fortunately, we are all healthy. Thanks to the lockdown I finished my TACL project and now I continue working on the bucket chain excavator. The only problem is, when the material runs out.
Stay healthy and creative.

Would those be from Industrial Mechanika by any chance ?
Still working full time. Some modeling. Great traffic. Family and I healthy. Cat is good.

That Fordson tractor loco looks great! How big is it? Does it run?
Ray, the model is in 1/35th scale on 16.5 mm track gauge. There is no space for the installation of an motor. But I was able to reproduce the drive concept true to the original.
But I built a workshop car with a small motor inside. So I can push the TACL rail tractor.

Satisfactory. -- Russ
I wouldn't mind seeing the one in the background close up...
Well observed Chuck. You'll probably recognize him. In fact ,I took the liberty of using the drawings from your thread, among other things, for the realization.

Reminds me of the one you started and never finished.
Could be a shelf orphan come to life down the line??
Jerry
Nothing wrong with that model. -- Russ
Wonderful job Bernard! I'm glad somebody actually finished one! I like your color choices too!
Chuck, does this mean your model isn't ready? That's too bad. I really admired your work on it.
I have to admit, I'm a little obsessed with fordson tractor powered vehicles. Right now I'm working on the drawings for another one, a Hudson Go-Go. There are a few more in my project folder.
Bernhard
Bernard, I love the frame/chassis on that "Go-Go". Do plans or other photos exist?
I want to use it for a freelance loco I'm planning.
Carlo
Carlos, I found some photos on the Internet. Additionally I am in contact with the Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum, where the rail tractor is preserved. They helped me with the main dimensions and some more pictures. I also asked for additional information about the brake system. But at the moment the museum is closed because of the lockdown. From the whole information I made a 3D model.
Let me know if you can use any of it (e-mail to bwellinger at bluewin.ch).
Bernhard
Im not sure if its still available but J Tilston made a CD "Industrial Narrow Gauge Illustrated " among the many plans is the GO-GO with some nice photos its a superb CD all plans are in 3 scales with all the detail and measurements
Barney
looked on Google and looks like they are available in paperback form the GO-GO is in volume 1&2
Thanks Bernard and Barney for the info.
I have that Tilston CD, so I'll look there.
Carlo
Barney, thanks for pointing that out. I will try to get the book as an additional source of information and inspiration.
