Title: my short visit
Post by: 1-32 on March 18, 2020, 06:44:06 AM
This creepy virus is certainly changing the world I really hope that it will know how to repair itself.
Left for the great adventure to Europe in February now back home in Australia after having to do a quick retreat now in 14 day home isolation.I left Italy early just before they closed the borders and hung in Amsterdam waiting for the start of Ontrax in Utrecht. By this stage, there were a lot of modellers pulling out but the show was still on so I arrived for the set up that was 4 pm .At 3,45 pm the Dutch government banned all gatherings over 100 people the show was off -knock me over I could not believe it. Result spent another 3 nights in Utrecht to see what was happening and the only conclusion was to get back to OZ the world is closing down 33 hours of travel I am still trying to get over it all.
not real happy but Cheers anyway.

Hello Kim,
well to read that you made it home to Australia.
We do not know what is going on here, the Chancellor has announced a speech this evening.

I'm sorry the virus spoiled your vacation and the convention. I'm glad you are not sick. Stay healthy and use your quarantine time for modeling.

So far, in our area, greedy, aggressive hyenas are hoarding food and supplies making it very hard for normal people to find groceries. If that also is happening in Australia, you're better off at home as we wait for things to return to normal.

Thanks for checking in with us.

Lockdown in Norway, too.
Working from home, no extra modelling time yet!

yes once I settle back in I will get back into a few projects. Really the economic fallout is huge much bigger than the virus itself soon they will have a vaccination but the economic repair is going to take years. At least we have the internet myself I am really well but really wanting to get out and take a nice long walk. It was great to catch up with some European modellers and the population I met were very charming and helpful. The travel experience did not get off to a good start, on my second day in Italy I was attacked by a dog this mother was trying to get on my shoulders to attack my neck but I survived by using another person as a shield. The dog did not want the shield it wanted me.
Anyway stay safe shoot the profiteers and keep modelling.
Kim

Sorry for your troubles, heck of a way to end a trip. Our company just shut down for a month maybe, so I get a sudden retirement preview.

I'm glad you made it home. This whole situation sucks but it would be even worse to be stuck somewhere far from home.
