Title: early Upright boiler / T Boiler Climax gearbox details
Post by: Barney on May 14, 2018, 07:45:26 AM
Can any one out there give me some idea of how the early Climax (upright boiler / T boiler Type) gear box works or the general layout of it  - had a look on the web and can only find shots of the trucks /drive shafts and the 2 cylinder steam engine no details of the gear box - its just the bit from the engine crankshaft gear to the drive shafts and how is the gear selected - is it just a sliding gear to join the engine to a gear train ? just a simple sketch would do so its gives me some idea .
Thanks

Look around here, I think you will find what you need. BTW Mr Hume has made this series into a book complete with drawings for building one.
