Title: 3-D Printed People - And What Else?
Post by: finescalerr on October 22, 2014, 12:31:55 PM
I saw this in today's news: http://www.itworld.com/article/2837398/worlds-first-3d-full-body-scanning-booth-to-create-custom-you-figurines.html?google_editors_picks=true (http://www.itworld.com/article/2837398/worlds-first-3d-full-body-scanning-booth-to-create-custom-you-figurines.html?google_editors_picks=true)

Maybe this should be in the 3-D Printing thread but it's also a topic in its own right. If a machine can scan and produce something as complex and a person, what else could it do for modelers?

I would only use this if it could make me look 20 pounds lighter!  :D

The reverse logic is that complex things are easier to do.  If something has few lines then they have to be perfect, while the more complicated something is the more mistakes can be overlooked.
