Done it again -never been the same since the giant red wood fell on me shed -should be a close up of a Ruston scratch built in 1/35th but it will not do it -I will go back to the basics

Great stuff. I really like the clapboard siding, and also the rusted steam loco.

Is the repair shop from days of yore or fairly recent? -- Russ

Russ - The workshop was completed last year
Nick - the Ruston jib is scratch built from Evergreen styrene strip /angle and channel - each side was laid out on graph paper to keep things straight and even Les said it was quite easy rely !!

The crane like it very much, but the bike is not bad either.

I'm a little confused ???
both models are great :o
but did the crane operator ride his bike to work ???
And if so, that's a barge, is it high tide ???
I'm old and easily confused, so if someone could clear this up for me ::)
sorry, my wife stopped responding to my commentary, so I'll ride this horse until she bucks me

Dear MPH I know that feeling - I am trying to give up confusion but in todays modern world its getting harder - just take a deep breath and take the tablets it may help !!
Les should be back online and fully signed up for the forum any time now to answer all your questions help with confusion I'm not sure !

Thanks for getting me back on Barney.

A bit of background to the model - scratchbuilt in styrene, though the metal tracks (from a Renault tank kit) were kindly donated by Barney.

The drums were turned on a Dremel from styrene sheet and rod (wife was not too happy about the bits on the carpet!!), and the radiator grill was from 2 layers of photo-etch. Jib is scratch in styrene angle and strip- went together very easily. The barge is "distressed" basswood.

And yes the crane operator did ride his bike to work - they are very poorly paid you know!!  Bike is a Diopark kit, very fiddly and delicate but using the photo-etch spokes provided in the kit is produces a reasonable model.
