First machine Sierra West Bolt Cutter.
Jerry
Colors look great...tone down the red a bit. I am just cleaning up an old lathe...you'd be amazed how much dirt and grime accumulate on, pretty much every part! All the orig colors are muted.
O scale? I have an old CHB milling machine, need it?
Paul
My next was the Crank Shaper.
An I forgot these are O-Scale all by Sierra West Models.
Jerry
Paul I already did tone it down. It's not really that red in real time.
Thanks for looking in.
Jerry
Jerry, nice job.

Jerry, very nice look! O scale?
Hal
Thanks Hal. Yes O-Scale.
Good to see you over here looking around. It's a great forum.
Jerry
Very meticulous work, young Jerry. -- Russ
Nice Jerry, they look like great castings.
Lovely!
You are off to a good start.
You need a planer a drill press a lathe and a ....
Now get the molds from diorama debris and cast a few zillion bricks.
That should keep you busy!
Mj
Unc, Chester & Martin
Thanks for looking in. I appreciate it.
Marty I thought you said you were doing the bricks for me??? ;)
Jerry
Thanks Jerry, I have been lurking here for years... lots of very impressive modeling.
Hal
Here's the Universal Miller. So far the hardest of all the models.
Jerry
You are doing a really fine job on these Jerry! I remember how tricky they were.
Nice work!
How about a group shot?
mj
Thanks Chuck. I think the Drill Press will be the real challenge.
Ray glad you stopped in and thanks.
Good idea MJ. Maybe later today.
Jerry
Well I'm back again. After a short period of things to do in real life. I've finished the Drill Press well almost I still need to give it a couple of the green wash.
And the chain needs to be done yet. Also noticed a shaft missing.
But as always comments welcomed.
Jerry
Nice! You are getting a really good authentic look to the colors. Having done a machine shop many years ago(in HO) one trick is the chips. I actually made chips purposely for it, taking really small cuts on a real lathe...and I mean REALLY small cuts. It looked OK, oversize for HO..but prob better in O.
You need a couple holes in the drill press table...no drill press is complete with out them! In the shop trade its known as the "smile", get enough of the holes and it looks like a smile.

good to see you back building. Looks super. very nice and clean build.
Yes, clean construction is becoming a hallmark of your work Jerry!
What do you mean you took a break to do things in real life? I thought building the machine shop was your real life! At least it certainly LOOKS real. -- Russ
When are we gonna see the group photo???
Lovely.
-Mj
Thank you all very much for looking in.
The lathe is next.
And then I have to starting thinking about a building to put these in.
Jerry
Yea, that's what I was about to say: they are in need of a proper shop now.
Very clean build, congrat !
eric
Thanks Eric.

Now you know Russ that after you retired you have more things to do than before. >:(
Jerry
Let's put it this way: So far I can do more of what I WANT to do than before I retired. -- Russ

Jerry
I finished the lathe this afternoon. I really need to learn to take better pictures or a better back ground.
I'll do a group picture tomorrow.
Here's two more
They still need to be weathered.
Comments always welcome.
Jerry
Another nice one Jerry! They must be hard to handle at this stage.
Very nice , young Jerry. You're getting quite good at this modelling lark . Keep up the good work ,
Nick
I guess i wont ask "where's the group shot?" since it keeps falling on deaf ears..... ;)
Quite lovely!
-Mj
Thanks Chuck always good to have a nice comment from you. Your right they get hard to handle when there done. Almost like to many things in the way of big fingers.
Thank you Sir Nick. Glad you liked it. I almost have it down to a science.
I guess i wont ask "where's the group shot?" since it keeps falling on deaf ears..... Huh!!!!
Thanks MJ and I will post a group shot just for you :)
Jerry

Jerry
Ya, I haven't found anything that sounded like what you were looking for... sorry.
Glad you found something.

Way to clean, oil and chips and gunk, that's what you need, check out some of Marc's threads about oil stains, it will lead you in the right direction

Now that summer is over and Diane and I are over going to the beach everyday.
We just once or twice a week now looking for sea glass.
I've finished my floor except for the weathering.
And have finished framing one side of the building.
Jerry
Yay! Are those windows the ones you are making?
The wood work looks good!

Boy, do I want one of those for my own Machine Shop! And all the other machines as well. But do I have $350,- to spare? Hmm...
Great paint job, look forward to see the progress on your Machine shop!
Good to see you back at work on this project. Remember, if you want custom windows I can do CAD drawings for you. -- Russ
I guess Russ' post gave us all the kick in the pants we needed!
- Except Nick & Marc
Thanks Gordon, Hauk, Russ and you to MJ.
Glad you all took the time for a look see.
Russ thanks for tearing yourself away from the thong girls and giving us all some time here!!! :)
Jerry
What do you mean by "tear yourself away"? I have a girl, sans thong, sitting on my lap as I type this! -- Russ
