Title: 1930´s and 40´s in full color

Library of Congress have posted more than 1500 photos in color from the 1930´s and 40´s on Flickr.

A few rail related, but the main value is that they give us a view of the colors of everyday Life.

Very useful. Thanks for the link.

Make sure not to take the colour literally, the dyes in colour film are not always stable, and each dye degades at its own rate.  And even when new may have a specific colour bias ektachromes are more pinky to give skin a healthy glow.

Through some cosmic wormhole (or the Flickr equivalent) I was able to download one image at full resolution (12 Mp) - but I have never been able to repeat this..

I really like the tiny gas station in that first photo!

But it's no wonder they've gone out of business... way out in the middle of nowhere like that.
