As my title says...what the heck happened?
I went and checked the file, dialog box says Scale:1.0000 and then lists the overall x,y.z sizes and they are all correct.
Parts actually look pretty good, but...they are the wrong size!
I sent 2 parts and they are both too big, both by about the same amount.
Parts were drawn in inch size and I checked the inch box when I uploaded them...size is about 2.54 times too big, is this the issue and if so what do I do to fix it?
Thanks,
Paul
2.54 .. that's how many CM in an IN
That tells me that if you checked Centimeters they would print correctly
Yeah I know...that's what I'm thinking, but it doesn't make sense. Check mm if your part was made in inches?
Paul
Paul,
If you ran your parts through MeshLab and NetFab, they use millimeters, so that may be where the problem occurred.
I contacted Shapeways and they say the file was exported that way, ie in the "wrong" size. I can't quite figure where my mistake is as I have all the boxes checked for inches when I exported from Inventor. It also shows my overall x,y&z as the correct sizes. I downloaded Netfab and it however says the file as the wrong size, multiplied by 2.54.
I must have another, perhaps more global setting wrong.
