Younger (Mr. Younger?) -
I'm sorry but that's just sick. ::) Nobody's workbench should ever look that neat and tidy. Every time I try to do that with mine I end up looking for things the next month or two (at least).

I'm so confused! I thought this thread was to show you actually WORKING at your workbench, not just the workbench sitting there all lonely and forlorn! I'd post that, but that means I gotta get my wife over to my playroom to take it, and then she would start asking questions about where all those kits came from, and so forth. Not sure I can stand the exposure!

Motorised height adjustable workstation for model building, with 63 to 130 cm max. Working height.
This height-adjustable work is a gift from my son, who developed these tables as a designer.
Such a table is just perfect, and you can also work comfortably while standing on the table.
Nice workshop, Helmut!

Here are a couple shots of me and my incredibly messy workspace. The self-portrait was achieved using the highly sophisticated trick of holding the camera at arm's length:

WOW!...and I thought I was a mess. At least I can usually retain the prerequisite 8-square inches of clean workspace. ;D ;D ;D
My model bench took over my furniture showroom in the barn when I closed the business. Everything of mine seems to be slowly moving out of the house and into the barn. Glad I don't have a dog house.

And this is me in the big workshop where all the beer drinking goes on.

I don't have a work bench so I envy all of you who can just walk away from a project and pick it up again later. I model on my rolling work table between printing jobs which needs to be cleaned off at regular intervals.
Really like Ray's ancient old phone - and Chester, sharp saws and beer drinking?
I don't have a suitable picture of my smiling puss, but here's a long shot of the work room:

That one is actually brand new. But I do have an old, black, "phone company" rotary phone under my desk, plugged into the extra phone jack. The old-fashioned ringer is a lot easier to hear if I'm outside or something.
Marc! Buddy! You're turning into the silver fox! :o

Work bench looks good
Chester,
That second photo of you in the shop is great. Covet the shop, and the image looks like it's straight out of a Lands End catalog, or a Ralph Lauren ad in Vanity Fair. ;D
Ken,
Shoot, I was going for the debonaire painter look. The truck is not quite ready for public viewing.......in a while. :D Nice bright, and orderly workspace you have there.

... as I don't have a work bench - I'm doing all my work at my writing desk - I'm drawing a blank on this one and envy you ... ummm, well ... at least the modelling mates among you with tidied up work benches ... ;D ... and the ones with an huge amount of modelling stuff in stock ... :o 8)
Cheers
Ken,
Two questions...
All them boxes up top...are they previously built kits, or still avaiting assembly one day?
And WTF with the pink flamingo in the corner???
Very comfy looking work space despite the flamingo ;D...a tad jealous right now.

Hello Hauk
This is a drive motor for a flexible shaft for dental handpieces technology.
(https://www.finescalerr.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.buntbahn.de%2Ffotos%2Fdata%2F6484%2F13P1050574.JPG&hash=bb2c2072fc698bdb629bb6a2a30fb92176ddb7e6)
Dental handpieces to use tools.
Perhaps an idea for a topic "tools for the workbench".
My Sons in his last year of dental school! I can't wait until he starts his practice. All those fringe benefits!
The first thing I want to borrow are those cool glasses they have, and then one of those cool lights on the overhead track, and then,.........................

wow i wish i could even get to my work bench
Dan, all the kits on the shelves are unbuilt, but a lot of them have been opened for parts.
BTW, that's not just ANY pink flamingo. It's outlined in twinkle lights.
Since Mr. Potato Head made fun of my clean workbench, here's a recent shot.

It's still too clean!!!!!

I thought he wasn't going to tell. Can't trust a resin-ite.
Marc what's with the white glove???? Is proctology in the future???
Jerry
Jerry,
It's my Michael Jackson look! ;D ;D
I often use a cotton glove (buy them at a photography supply shop) when doing detail painting and weathering (especially when working with brushes), as it protects against body oils and moisture on the model/parts while I am holding/handling them for extended periods of time (also helps guard against the inadvertant fingerprint). The glove also gives me a soft clean cotton surface (on the back of my hand) where I can wipe the brush, or dab off some excess paint/thinner (in lieu of a cotton rag draped over my arm or on the bench...or using my shirt sleeve).

My bench time and builds always feel like a giant game of "Where's Waldo" :-X (Yes there is actually a build underway here :-\ )

These are 1/32 kits from ARI. I think they are small enough, and unique enough vehicles that you might be able to pass them off as 1/35. If using figures just use some that are on the large end of the 1/35 spectrum.
The kits ran from $7 to $9 (top one being the 7). They are older molds, and do require some clean-up, and can stand to have some additional and refined detiling done with styrene......but all in all, a heck of a deal, for some very interesting pieces. The top kit (which is the one I will be working with) consists of 25 parts (supposed to be 27, but my kit was missing the 2 windows), and a decal sheet.

It is amazing how a pair of tweezers will interlock with a brush or other tool when you try to pick it up from the pile.
