Title: Photo Etch Saws
Post by: marc_reusser on February 05, 2007, 03:34:08 PM
For those that are not familiar with these, I thought I would share them. These are an assorment of PE saws made byTECHSTAR (#TC2009). They are very fine, and sharp. Some of the teeth are so fine that they don't really show up in the scan. They are .010 thick. Their varied shape is a real boon for getting into hard to reach areas and shapes when kitbashing something, or just plain modifying kit parts. They cut easily through resin and plastic (I have not tried them on wood). Some of the shapes have extended arms that allows them to be used in an X-acto handle.

Hi Marc,

Hasegawa has started to sell the old TriMaster saw and scribe sets.  They might be easier to come by than the techstar stuff.
