Title: Model of The Day
Post by: marc_reusser on December 19, 2011, 06:40:24 PM
Thought we could use a thread sim to "Photo Of the Day" where we can post images (or links to) models/the work of others that we find interesting and worth sharing. (Thought it would be easier than having a ton of threads all over the place about such models/projects). When posting images, please try to give credit to the builder and site whenever possible.

To start off...

Here is one by Pawel Sieminsky, from FB. I thought this was creative. Have seen other sim concepts but not this one with "built and on workbench" effect.

I found this one by Piotr Gladki (on FB) particularly well executed.

New thread ... neat stuff!  The workbench one is a cool & novel idea ... needs a pair of tweezers and a partial fret of PE on the workbench side ... or something like that.  Suppose the locomotive hulk is sunken into snow or dirt?  Nice work.  -- Dallas

Slinkachu has done a series of "little people in the city"  which is pretty amazing. The book as gone into multiple reprints. http://www.amazon.com/Little-People-City-Street-Slinkachu/dp/0752226649

Here is some work from the "Forced Labor" series by an Argentinian artist (now a NYC resident) I like very much, Liliana Porter...she was in the diorama show at the Museum of Arts and Design this last Summer:

A link o the blog of Juaquin Ga. Garcia.

He ranks as one of my favorite builders. I feel he he has wonderful all around skills, from the equipment, to figures, to scenery, and to display/staging.

Those "rusted car" models are pretty interesting and unusual. He uses "found" objects with actual rust and decay.
