Title: Newbie ... "no particular piece to show" ... (narrow gauge, estate)
Post by: mad gerald on January 07, 2011, 11:35:06 AM
G'evening all,

... sorry for punning on that old Chuck Berry classic, but Russ encouraged me to show something of my work for introduction ... but my work is not finescale yet (but I aim to improve). So I thought giving a short overwiew of what I've done instead ...

I started modelling about 2 years ago, I was dabbling with Gn15, i. e. my  Diesel Critter/Drasine (http://forum.gn15.info/viewtopic.php?t=4790&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=draisine) ... came across IIf (means scale 1:22,5 on 26,7mm track representing 600mm original gauge) i. e. my flat waggon (http://www.buntbahn.de/modellbau/viewtopic.php?t=9612&start=10&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) ... started building a layout recently  "Gutshof Uhlenbuettel" (Uhlenbuettel estate) (http://www.buntbahn.de/modellbau/viewtopic.php?t=9693)  ... run an own website (http://www.gerald-maass.de/index.php)  ... with a little bilingual (english/german) section (Gn15 as well as tips & tricks) and would like to join you modellers improving my skills and contribute parts of my humble own work later on, when I did some progrees and improvement ...

I was nicknamed "kartonbahner", because I once did a workshop (http://www.buntbahn.de/modellbau/viewtopic.php?t=7856&highlight=workshop) in the Buntbahn Forum how to use MS PowerPoint for construction and development if one has not the skills or opportunity using CAD ... and offered to download the cardboard Diesel Drasine for free ... and because I always build a cardboard prototype first, i. e. regarding the ASEA LGB-4 (http://www.gerald-maass.de/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30&sid=97721de2eff08e0f69db35e8fca57f28) recently ...

This "former chicken shack" is going to be a part of my estate layout, then to be used as a shed for storage (of anything):

EDIT: spelling mistakes

I like that wall. It has the right feel. Your intentions are very clear. I'll be sure to make time and click through your links.

Welcome to the forum.

John

Great news!  Another Gn15 guy!
Welcome aboard, Gerald.  I'm familiar with your work from the Gnatterbox
Forum and it's pretty safe to say that you'll fit right in around here.
I'm looking forwarded to seeing more of your big-scale work.
