Howdy,
since a long time.......always busy in modeling (and missing password ).
My last work is a freelanced vertical boiler shay in On30!
I have to start this porject on B'man Shay, I entirely dismounted the engine and preserved, frame, trucks, cylinders and gearboxe.
I crossed in length and width the frame, for for better proportions of the engine!
I installed a Faulhaber motor in the boiler, for the other parts I used, styrene and brass!
The photos will speak more than me in my poor english!
Sincerely!
LLOYD
new frame, deck and motor!
I used 1624 Faulhaber.
boiler in en brass tude dubled in styrene with embossing rivets,
some details...
That is a nice looking conversion!
Thanks Chuck!
engine awaiting, new stack, some détails and roof...
new stack and unfinished roof...
the engine is ready to paint, just missing 4 stack pockets...
That looks good!
Welcome back!
A very nice way to use the B-mann shay.
Very nice work, Lloyd. -- Russ

Wow, very nice work! Can't wait to see the paint job.
Lloyd,
thanks for showing this conversion. your work just arrives in time as I have a dissassembled unit in my drawer and I didn't know what to do with it.
Jacq
Howdy,
thanks for your interest for this conversion!
First step in paint, airbrushed with grey #66 humbrol, and mixted color for the wood boxe...
after lettering, to give a darker color, airbrushed black ink diluted with alcohol...
for weathering I used classic method, pigment, mineral spirit, inks.....
finished engine with roof and some détails...
the other side...
I really took pleasure to build this class A Vertical Boiler Shay (circa 1880), look good and nice for my little layout!
In a next time, I will show ( in Gallery ) other conversions on B' man engines, 440 ,240, 060, shay!
Sincerely!
LLOYD
