Here's one I haven't posted before.
This is a replica of the old Vineland (NJ) Speedway sign.

Vineland is the next town over, but I wasn't around when the track was running.

Dimensions were scaled against a 1/25th "Henry J" model kit and an old newspaper photo.

The signs are hand-painted.

Neither the sign nor the speedway exist today.

Very nice, Ken. But what else could it be?
I remeber this dio from somewhere else...always thatought it was a very cool build. Thanks for posting it.
M
Ken,
while you are digging thru the archives, you might as well post your DPM kitbash project. I think that project is one of the coolest things I have seen in 1/87. Your detail work on that one is truly "fine scale", so it would be right at home here! It was a major inspiration for me to get back into model building.
The speedway sign is a classic Ken. I remember witnessing this build way back on the SA forum (before we all abandoned ship there). A perfect replication of the original sign photo.
And I'll second the motion to see the DPM transformation here, it truly is an amazing piece of 1/87 scale modeling.
Ken - A sign with a car sitting on top...made for you to model.
Will you be attending CSS this November?

Keep posting. Good stuff. -- Russ
Too cool! Impressive work on those hand-painted signs, too.
Neat diorama. I always got a kick seeing those car on a stand or pole displays, at race tracks or junk yards, etc. Gary
Pretty cool piece. That you hand-painted the signs is awesome! Do you have any close-ups of the details?
