Huge talent there, most impressive use of the materials. I wonder if he goes through some stabilization of the solid wood (PEG) to prevent future checking?

Wood, paper, plastic, metal -- put them in the hands of a craftsman who prefers the medium and you get excellent to spectacular results. I remember a guy back in the '80s (Bill somebody-or-other) who built 1:48 traction models and passenger cars completely from wood. Yes, trucks, too. Outstanding work. He won three NMRA national contest blue ribbons one year and truly deserved them. One might have been Best of Show. -- Russ

I agree...really beautiful and skilled work there.

He must own stock in the companies that make Bondo and Prestec though. ;D

It was a different Bill. Clouser was a pioneer in resin casting, styrene construction, cardstock, and who knows what else. This other guy was from the Midwest or east and came out of "nowhere" to dominate the contest. Wherever that contest took place (not St. Louis, where I think Clouser lived), he lived pretty close to it. And now you know how old I am! -- Russ
