No hype, I stumbled on this 4.5 minute YouTube 'video' this morning and was AMAZED at the work of Young C. Park, a retired dentist (1932-2013) who completely scratchbuilt models of a F4U-D CORSAIR and a P51 MUSTANG, mostly out of aluminum. The "video" is from 2009, but it looks like the original is older. It's a slide show with lots of close up details and there are countless details! All the controls function as on the prototypes. Right near the end there are photos of a couple of the wooden forms he made to shape the aluminum skin. I had not seen his work before, though he had been featured in Finescale Modeler magazine, so probably many of you have. For those who have not, check this out:

If you initially aren't inclined to look at YouTube, here is a brief glimpse of his work:

A few of our own forum members can model at that level. -- Russ
Russ, CERTAINLY! didn't mean to imply otherwise :-[, but compared to my own efforts...
That museum is just up the coast from me. I've got to go see it one of these days.
Take photos when you do.
