Marty -The journal boxes I copied from the HUDSON catalogue From what I can see the axle bearing is encased in rubber which acts as the suspension and the springs are just an added support and also act as a shock absorber these units are only for light trucks and rail cars not so much for load carrying and no they do not work its just a static model !
