Argent Lumber Photos

In anticipation of the upcoming Logging Annual, I browsed through SC archive collections, and whadayaknow...a gold mine of argent loco pictures. Unfortunately I did not come across any structures or equipment other than locos and a few cars. Enjoy.

Mal's article focuses on what he and others saw when the Argent was still active, but toward the end of operations. He provides both black-and-white and color images from a variety of photographers. It is an excellent 40 page treatment of the line although it, too, has only a few photos showing structures. -- Russ

I believe I have some photos that show the engine house, water tank, and some small shed...theyre not too different from some of the ones on the site....I can see if I can find them if anyone is interested.

I think Mal will continue his Argent coverage next year. His usual pattern in follow-up articles is to include plans and reference photos for modeling. -- Russ

Has been one of my favorites for years. Who can resist all that rust and tumble. I would love to see more shop shots.

I have Tom Yorkes (thin) Mag from way back plus Mal's book. I think Beebe and Clegg took some pics. And now the Logging Annual. The next Classic Trains mag is promising an article, but I have no idea if it it will be anything new.

The last/bottom pic shows a bit of an overall view of the yard with the camp houses being stored in the background.

I believe I have some additional pics (unscanned) but I will have to find the time to dig through my boxes; I will post them if there is anything really different or interesting.

These were just old photos/prints I had...Mal could very well have a these prints as well.
