Here are first piece of furniture. I tried to make a sandglass, it is about 2.5mm high.

The glass in sandglasses is made of pure foil dipped in clear acrylic varnish.
I almost finished lower cabin and continue with furniture and other details.

How about a game of chess?

This is furniture for the upper cabin.

I just sit here .. stunned .. Oh My Gosh! The chess board w/pieces on the table .. on a finger .. sheesh :) ..

Caught myself looking at the chart table w/Sandglass, book with bookmark and charts and quills .. and laughing .. in sheer enjoyment. Amazing.

I agree completely with Ed.  I really do not know what to say...I just sit here looking at these pics with a big stupid smile on my face!

Doris --

Zoinks!  (Silly word = big WOW)  Super Zoinks!  Stunning, amazing, beautiful, inspiring ...

Fabulous little details ... very "little" ... and looking into each of those rooms/salons, it all looks so good together!

Cheers,

Just unbelievable work Doris... :o  I'm curious about a couple of things: one, the carpet. I assume it's a printed piece, but it looks like it has a rug fiber texture and depth. How did you accomplish that? And second: the rolled charts on the table look absolutely like old rolled charts, their weight, texture and coloring. I can't begin to think how you accomplished that in such a small scale. As for the chess set, I'm boggled... :o

Paul... boggling in the corner

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I'm totally in awe! The lighting and interior details add so much to the model, really bringing it to life. And I love the tiny chess set!

I sincerely thank you all for the praise. It is for me a huge honor.
Regarding your questions:
The carpet is printed on high quality matt photo paper by inkjet printer. Then (after drying) I put the printed side of paper on the appropriate textile structure (for example table cloth) and using a roller or a blunt object I create the pressure on whole area of paper. The cloth will engrave into the paper. This way it is possible to achieve a characteristic textile structure on the printed paper.
The rolled charts are from thin paper, which I first painted and then dipped in a water-thinned brown colour.
It is possible to add other objects inside of cabins, but unfortunately through the small windows you will not see a lot in the final.
I have just finished the plastic model of Titanic 1/400 from Academy Premium edition:
http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=175&t=49680
but now I continue on Sovereign again. Soon I will be attaching the decks and cannons. In the pictures below you can see the manufacturing process of paper furniture - chairs and the actual size in comparison with my finger.

Some fruits on the table......

The stern galleries are finished and ready for gilded decorations. There are added stronger struts inside of the hull for high solidity. During next days I will fix all decks and add other gun carriages.

Most satisfactory.

How long do you think the adhesive backing on the wood-grain material you use will last? Does it ever dry out? Does temperature or moisture affect it?

Just totally amazing.  Everytime I look at this I feel I should take up coin collecting.  Chuck let me borrow your penny for a start!!!
