Having a little dabble in the big stuff or my excuse for a scale hop !
Ruth diesel completed and in the Que.for a paint job along with other bits and pieces - give up trying to paint in this weather cold & damp and still not got round to sorting the workshop (2 years on from the move) + all paint and weathering powders banned from the house !!
1/35th stuff Keystone skimmer on hold due to happenings for the model show in September but thats another tale hopefully resolved soon and new show underway with new management.
So saved by Mr Chuck for a small project in 1/16th scale "another tug hoist"
Rough shapes completed normal process of skinned LEGO blocks and engine/transmission ready for detailing - Drum hoist frame started and ready for drums and gears

Looks great, and an excellent example of how something complex can be built up from just basic shapes.

I just love watching you cobble together a model and the results are consistently adequate. -- Russ

Good to see you are going bigger again (and I don't mean the result of  cheese rolls!).  1/16th scale is fun and rewarding with all the detail you can add.

Your build is starting  impressively. It's nice to see Legos can span multi-scales :)

This is looking really good. I have to say that I like the shapes in the first two photos and could have cast them in bronze as sculptures all on their own.
You may ask yourself: "Well, how did I get here?"

Barney, you better be very carefull of doing 1/16th scale, as it can become very addictive, you can add heaps of detail and just wont know when to stop adding to it.
Coming along nicely and it's rather easy to scratchbuild in this scale, all shapes are now able to be done quite easily.
