Water tanks ---Wood core styrene tube  for the corners. With styrene top and wood bottom. The 1-1/2 black pipe is for the boiler (1-7/8 dia.) and the TB- 175 gray pipe is for the front wheels.

That will certainly be another interesting thing. I'm looking forward to it.

I like how you did the rounded corners. Hadn't seen that before.

Ray Dunakin

What kind of glue did you use to laminate the styrene sheet onto the wood block?

Very nice and should not get any bother from the rivet counters

That's a lot of rivets. They drive me mad, can only take a few at a time ( between a glass of wine or two). It's looking very impressive, very neat.

Thanks guys for your comments. Ray I don't laminate the styrene to the wood core, on the small tank I polled one .010 styrene sheet around the core and cemented the two ends (one cement joint.) The big tank I used two .010 styrene sheets taped them to the form and placed in hot water. Poll the two sheets around the core and cemented the four ends (two cement joints). Before adding the styrene sheets to the sides I glue on .040 styrene sheet on the top and .125 basswood on the bottom rounding off the corners matching the core. The styrene top to the side also cemented. The wood bottom to the sides CA to the joint, keeping the glue off the styrene face.
Cement...Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.
Glue...CA and epoxy.

It's unbelievable what you can do with styrene sheets, a lot of skill and and a lot of patience.

Thanks guys for your comments. Here's three  photos of the boiler with the smoke stack, steam dome, Smoke box front, fire box door and ash clean out door. ( the stack needs more detail)
