I've found some of the prototype images from O&K catalogues but i may find a lot more in similar not identical versions...

Quote from: finescalerr on August 31, 2022, 12:02:48 AMDaniel, what notifications did you receive? -- Russ

Well, Russ, after you instructed me and i followed that, i've got notification for this, Kim's and Bernhard threads and a couple more. Some days ago only from Kim's & Bernahard and now nothing for several days.
But computers don't like me and that is reciprocal so often they just make fun of me not knowing once they may get a flying above the channel experience.

But would be great as the notifications would work.

Thank you.

While (still) searching for the images of the corrugated plate pastel work found this that may be interesting for someone. Not necessarily the way i did  it but the concept:

Well, it is taking some work to find the corrugated plates roof images but meanwhile you get a chance to get used to Magoo's chaos...

It is easy to work but very dificult to paint. Next time, instead than airbrush primer i will use BISON contact glue very diluted with toluene and spoil a soft brush for giving the foam a very thin layer if i don't manage to get the right spray adhesive as 'primer'...

WARNING!

Don't try it with styrene: the friction would smelt it around the cuts.

Don't expect it to go as easy as cutting Balsa: one must do each cutting slowly and gently so to give the saw the time to bite, chew and digest!

Magoo

Daniel

I was building "ROCHEFORT", a layout representing a 20" imaginary line somewhere in also imaginary France for an amazing finescaler in the UK whose work was focus on brass locos and rolling stock, al 1/32 scale. less than 60cm deep, room was very scarse so i learned many tricks to fool the eye about space.
An important element for that was to have an a bit hiding street partially visible only from some spots and occupying a maximum of 2" depth at the right end but all the rest only 1".
I will some day tell about the layout but i want to show here a for me funny, easy trick.
Let's the images tell the story and the... :D  ;D  :)...'method'... ;D  ;D  :D

The street was taking the upper level so to hide a long track running at the foot of the backdrop...
At the right end of the street would be a small restaurant with a small terrace at the front and the rest of the street, with it's just 25mm maximum depth, would me in principle just a row of false fronts...

P1680874 by d.caso, on Flickr

P1690258 by d.caso, on Flickr

The image below shows the tiny right end of the street practically only visible from the oposite end of the layout so i cgave it a stairs, a door and other minimal details to sugest 'there is more' (I already explained, i am a born liar.)...

P1680862 by d.caso, on Flickr

(the white foam with the pencil lines was a first sketch for the restaurant.)

This was the situation at the end seen from above...

P1690256 by d.caso, on Flickr

... and, since the rest of the false fronts where already underway, all i needed was something to fill in the  (in the image black) space between the row of buildings and the restaurant...

I had no idea what to do to avoid the conceptual repetition and in such 'don't knowing' is wheremost good ideas get born...
