Tractors

Yes I know its a kit, but I wanted a tractor in 1/35th and the only one I could find was SKP's Zetor 25 (a Czech company).  The kit is in resin with some very fine etch pieces to add. One or two bits broke during construction and three parts from the steering arm were completely missing (used styrene there) plus the exhaust went underneath the tractor. Most I have seen have it coming up vertically so some changes were made to the kit.  Bodywork paint was my usual technique - spary everything dark gray, add Bragdon rst powder while the paint is still "tackey" then after a couple of coats of hairspray "dab" on the blue Acrylic paint then pull off some with sellotape.  The engine and wheels were gery spray then lots of brown, grey, green ash powders to make it look "well worn".  Still have to add a sacking "cushion" for the driver (Milliput or Fimo should work there with a bit of cloth texture pressed in)

Beautiful build and weathering set in a great dio but it is kind of distracting seeing the drivers mounted backwards.  Well at least around here the lugs face forward to center maybe different in other places.
Again I say very nice build.

Lovely bit of work our Les just how you cope with these resin things I will never know as you  known resin and me just end up in the bin I surpose  I should just try harder  or something like that - but this tractor is great paint job and all
Just keep it coming the diorama at the back is looking good to - please post more of your stuff it's truly inspiration for us all

Barney, I suppose we have to be thankful for resin - it means "small operators" can offer a non "mass market" product. As you know I'm not a lover of resin (some kits are horrific)  but how else can you find some of the kits or parts you just need.

So have you built "it" yet ? Once you have angle ground 1/2 lb of resin off first !
