Barney ,

I'm impressed . Your work is coming along in leaps and bounds and your paint finishing is superb . I reckon even Chuck could learn a thing or two from you . And your politically correct portrayal of the Elephant Man as the driver is pure genius .

Who says we are all hyper critical on this Forum ? We know when to give praise when praise is due .

So do ya wanna sell it , Barnicle ?

U catched the secret detail..
In those years lots of diesel loko accidents and lack of spare parts in Turkey
they use boilers of non operating steamers..

Nice. Are the bricks around the boiler hand painted? If so, you must have a much steadier hand, and better eyes, than me!

HO scale, huh? Rather acceptable. Too bad school will interfere with your modeling time. -- Russ

Its actually a boiler house creating steam to run the wheel configuration next door which in turn will operate the elevators of the mine.

Ray,

Abd has a way in filling the gaps between the bricks. The wall is plaster. He paints the whole wall red first. Then seals it with matte varnish. Next he uses grey color oil paint and covers the whole wall with it again. This time he uses a cloth to wipe out the excess gray from the surface leaving the grey filling between the bricks...voila!

Very nice. The prototype was certainly an interesting place, it's too bad the engine house is gone now.
