Hi
I am new to the forum and thought I would share some of my smaller rolling stock items. Skips (the mainstay of the two foot industrial world) I had built these as a supply chain for my garden line to bring supplies to the local resort. Only access to the resort is by rail. (the way it should be  Grin Grin). The skips are all 7/8N2  7/8"=1'-0"   or a scale of 1:13.7 running on 45mm gauge track.  The wheels are commercial "Sierra Valley" the rest is resin cast or wood.  I also have the high res files on my flickr account.

Hey Ferd...Nice to see you here, too.

As always, these skips are great! Grin Grin

Hi Ferd, welcome to this forum! Nice skips. I especially like the ones loaded with produce, and the one with the bench for passengers.

Very nice cars, Ferd, and a very interesting variety of loads.

Is that Ferd from the 7/8ths forum? I haven't been over there in a bit, concentrating my modeling here and in 1:48. But that didn't stop me from just completing the new big loop on my outdoor 7/8ths railway.

This is good timing. I need to make a bunch of four-wheel cars too. I'll study your photos and unabashedly steal ideas. Your skips are just-right; believable, fun and attractive all in one.

Did you master the frame? Did you need a metal bushing for the axle bearing?

Hi John
Sorry for the slow reply - yes its me form the 7/8ths forum. The skips chassis is a resin casting - modified from one of Pete's masters (with permission  Grin ). The axle boxes house sealed stainless steel bearings. They roll extremely well, almost too well.
cheers Ferd

PS - I love the skips due to the small area that restrict radii, the skips will navigate all radii down to about 20" in both directions. (push and pull)

I went to your website and WOW! I didn't know there was that many 1:13 kits???
I really am interested in the Fowler inspection car! I have a plan and I have never seen a kit in any scale??
Pretty cool, now from your photos I can build mine!, Thanks
Where do you find 7/8th's kits, do you have a favorite supplier?
