With my Shays in the shop with blown gears I needed another loco.
Decided I would do one of those "cut up a Forney"
What was supposed to be a quick project took about a month.
Modifications;
1. shortened pilot (.300") scribed, grained and colored deck and footboards to represent wood.
2. new headlight.
3. new sand dome.
4. new steam dome.
5. re built cab sides and lengthened roof.
6. running boards grained and painted to look like wood.
7. filled / filed boiler seams.

Hope you like it, I am pleased it is already in service hauling logs to the mill as I type this..

Did it start as a Bachmann On30 Forney? If so, why is it dragging a new four-wheel tender? (You would have had to cut off the entire rear portion of the loco.) Anyway, however it started out, it sure ended up nice. -- Russ

Thanks gents!
Russ,
Yes it "was" a B'mann Forney.
Yes I cut it up, front & rear!
The tender is for all the sound stuff and gives 4 more wheels for elec p/u.
Glad you all like it!

Very nice Marty,
Maybe someday I'll get the courage to tackle one of these. :-\

Thanks Marc,
Sorry about the pics, but dont copy; do your own with a unique flair.
I didnt want mine to look like all the others anyway.

This is one of the nicest conversions I've seen. I like the inside frame look for this one.
