I guess the artist used a really "sophisticated" programme like Google Sketchup.

Can only stand in awe since I cannot even use the simple Google programme

Google Sketchup can be quite sophisticated if you use another rendering program such as Kerkythea.

Here is a critter I brewed up in Sketchup. Using the native Sketchup renderer it is relatively un-sophisticated ..  the point being that you can take your 3D model and create a complete set of plans.



Here's the same Sketchup model rendered in Kerkythea (my take on what would happen if Chip Foose got his hands on it)
