Several friends recommended the Instant Rust Kit which includes a bottle of Instant Iron and a bottle of Instant Rust. I thinned out some of the Instant Iron and used it as a wash allowing the tiny iron particles to accumlate in natural places. The second solution is a chemical that causes the iron particles to actually rust over several hours. A quick spray of Krylon clear Satin paint after the rusting was finished and it was done. I am pleased with this product which is available in most craft stores.
